The widerAdvance Facility will take part in the European Commission’s interactive workshop “Towards a Competence Framework for Knowledge Valorisation Intermediaries”, taking place on 12 May 2026 in Brussels. The workshop brings together professionals and organisations that help researchers and innovators move their results towards uptake by the market, public policy and society.
We are pleased to share that Katarzyna Walczyk-Matuszyk, Coordinator of the widerAdvance Facility from IPPT PAN, will contribute to the discussion as a panelist. Her participation reflects the project’s practical experience in supporting research organisations with dissemination, exploitation and knowledge valorisation, especially in Widening countries.
This workshop is particularly relevant to the widerAdvance mission. The European Commission is using it to map the roles, activities and competences of knowledge valorisation intermediaries, with the aim of building a more structured framework across the European Research Area. For widerAdvance, this is exactly the space where policy meets practice: how to better support the people and organisations that help research results create value beyond academia.
For our project, being part of this conversation matters. It creates an opportunity to bring in perspectives from day-to-day work with beneficiaries, to highlight the needs of organisations in less represented regions, and to contribute to a wider European discussion on what skills, structures and support mechanisms are needed to turn promising results into real impact.
